went to work earlier,
so that i could eat lunch with boyfriend.
after eating, i went to work
& boyfriend went to the restaurant for deserts.
i was alone in the shoppe till 930pm.
Boss came to close the shoppe.
during work,
there's a Taiwanese couple who came in.
they were looking around &
the wife found something she like.
so, her husband ask me in CHINESE.
" what's the material for this pair of earrings? "
he said some chim Chinese words
that i couldn't understand at all.
so, i looked at him dumbfounded...
so, he asked in ENGLISH.
" can you speak Chinese? "
guess what i said ?
" no, i can't. i'm a mixed blood. "
LOL.
i really said that!
omg.
i'm a chinese yet i don't understand
some words
& i don't speak that language fluently.
so malu!!
luckily,
the guy fell for hook,line & stinker.
if not, the whole situation will be much more
awkward.
haha!
so he asked me in broken english
& i replied him in english with a tinge of chinese.

another situation of lost in translation.
a malay woman came into the shoppe,
finding nose studs.
& she kept talking to me in MALAY!
so, i was lost.
i told her that i don't understand nor speak malay.
but,
she kept speaking malay with a few broken english.
haha,
with a little time,
i found out what she wants & settled her bill.
i need to learn some MALAY & brush up on my CHINESE!
so that i won't be caught in such situation anymore.
who wanna tutor me ?
